Memorable.me is an ethical online money pot for birthdays, leaving gifts, weddings, births, charitable projects and animal causes. There are no mandatory fees, and the organiser receives 100% of contributions. It was launched in 2026 by Georges Vernier, founder of the wedding platform Un Grand Jour.
Organisers get a free link and QR code, an optional goal and free SEPA withdrawals. Contributors need no account and can leave a message or a photo for an album to give with the gift. The money stays in an escrow account dedicated to each pot.
What makes it different
We believe generosity deserves respect. Nothing is added to the basket by default. Two payment buttons have the same size and colour: one includes a contribution to the platform and the other does not. Our only income is the contributions people choose to leave.
What we have found so far
We compare three screens on real payments: a free amount, a suggested amount and an amount already in the total. A prefilled amount appears only on pots whose organiser agrees: half of their contributors see it and can get it back in one click.
- Free amount: 5.7% leave a commission (0.28% of contributions).
- Suggested amount: 8% (0.74%).
- Already in the total: 47% (2.97%).
The prefilled screen brings in about 11 times more than the free amount and 4 times more than suggested. The study is still running.
What we want to achieve
Tipping screens appear on many payment pages and card terminals. We hope our evidence helps build a clearer framework that respects people’s consent. Read the study and its live results.
Anyone, from any country, without creating an account. The minimum contribution is €0.50. We set no maximum: only the limit of the contributor’s card applies.
Organisers verify their identity before their first withdrawal. Pots are in euros, and the money is paid into a euro bank account in the European Union, Norway, Liechtenstein, the United Kingdom or Gibraltar.
There are no mandatory fees. Creating a pot, contributing and withdrawing all cost €0, and the organiser receives 100% of contributions. We pay the card fees, the escrow account and the transfers.
Our income comes from two optional contributions:
- When paying. We show two payment buttons, one with a suggested contribution and one without. Nothing is added by default, except on pots whose organiser chose to take part in our study.
- When withdrawing. We recommend 3% to the organiser, because a pot costs us about that much to run. They can choose another amount or give nothing.
Someone paying in another currency sees the exchange rate before paying, with 2% to 4% in conversion fees that cover the exchange. They can pay in euros instead to avoid these fees. See our pricing in full.
