Giropay works contractually with more than 1,500 participating banks and savings banks and thus reaches over 85% of the German banking market. With the PSD2 interface (X2A), which has been available since September 2019, it is possible for giropay to connect credit institutions that have not yet participated in the successful payment process and thus achieve almost 100% bank coverage in Germany.
