African Crowdfunding Association (ACfA)

The African Crowdfunding Association (ACfA) is dedicated to fostering the development of the crowdfunding industry across Africa. As a self-regulatory organization (SRO), ACfA promotes transparency and good governance within the sector. Established in 2015 by several crowdfunding platforms, the association aims to formalize crowdfunding as a development finance tool, broadening access to capital for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) throughout the continent.

ACfA's mission encompasses the harmonization of crowdfunding regulations across Africa through the adoption of the ACfA Label Framework, an interim regulatory framework designed to standardize practices within the industry. The association also focuses on providing industry data and research, facilitating policy dialogue, and driving the adoption of crowdfunding among various stakeholders, including retail investors and development finance institutions.
