- Common Shares: Shares that represent ownership in a company. Owners of perpetual common shares have a claim to portions of a company’s profits equal to their equity stake. They may also elect the board of directors and vote on corporate policies.
- Diminishing Musharakah: Represents ownership (i.e. Common Shares) in a company but has an expiry date after which the ownership returns to the issuer. During their ownership, owners of diminishing partnership common shares have a claim to portions of a company’s profits equal to their equity stake.
